GATE Study Circle



GATE is a prestigious all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the Government of India.

The valid GATE score of the candidate is also used by several public sector undertakings (PSU) (i.e., government-owned companies like Indian Oil, GAIL, and Hindustan Petroleum, SAIL, GAIL, BPCL etc.) for recruiting graduate engineers in entry-level positions, to get Fellowship Programs from CSIR and Scholarships in ME/M.Tech and many more.

Department of Mechanical Engineering is in a process to start the training for GATE examination tentatively from July 2020 (First Onlineand then classroom coaching) as a part of capability enhancement program to benefit the students. This will be a structured programme and to be conducted in a professional way.


Course Details:

  1. Course Duration: Approximately 450 hrs including Mock Test
  2. Course Coverage: Entire content of the GATE syllabus.
  3. Course start date & Timings: Tentatively from July 2020 onwards in online mode (classroom time table will be communicated later)
  4. Course Fees: INR 25,000 Payment mode (Cheque or Cash or DD) + GST @18%.

LABORATORY INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Wearing I–card is compulsory.
  2. Bags & water bottles must be kept outside the laboratory.
  3. Abide by Safety Rules and Instructions.
  4. Handle all instruments with care and responsibility.
  5. Students will be entitled for no-attendance if they are late inside the laboratory after 10 min. of commencement of practical.
  6. Switch-OFF cell phones the laboratory during practical hours otherwise it will be confiscated.
  7. Maintain Discipline during practical.
  8. Report any breakage to the Lab-in-charge.
  9. Any damage to the Laboratory property by the students will have to be compensated by the concerned students.
  10. Return all equipment before leaving the laboratory.
  11. Switch-off main power supply when not in use.
  12. Collect your valuable before leaving the laboratory.
